The things you notice too late in the room

Drop in a PPTX and we go through it slide by slide. We report measurable things only, never taste: type too small to read, an overloaded slide, an object off the edge, a missing heading or a forgotten duplicate slide.

• Type size: below 14 points the back rows cannot read it. Move the threshold to match the size of the room.
• Amount of text: past seven lines or 400 characters the audience reads the slide instead of listening to you.
• Running off the slide: anything past the edge is cut off when projected, and in the editor you may not even see it.
• Image descriptions: without alt text a screen reader skips them.

Frequently asked questions

Does it fix what it finds?

No, it only shows it. You make the fix in PowerPoint or in our presentation editor, so the last word stays yours.

Why is a slide flagged that looks fine to me?

The thresholds are recommendations, not rules. Leave that title slide with the big quotation exactly as it is, and set the strictness to suit you.

Do you check spelling?

No. Use a spell checker for that; this tool looks at appearance and readability.

Is the presentation uploaded to a server?

No, it is read right in your browser.
