From notes to a designed deck

Write the outline the way you would jot it down anyway: a heading with bullets under it. Every heading becomes a slide, and what sits under it decides the layout: a list in a card, big numbers, a timeline, a table, a chart or a quote. A title slide, an agenda, section dividers and a thank-you slide come on top. You see the deck in the preview straight away and download it as a PPTX that opens in PowerPoint, LibreOffice Impress and Google Slides, or send it straight to our editor.

How to write the outline

• # Heading or Heading: starts a new slide. So does a line with a blank line in front of it.
• - bullet is a point on the slide. Indent it by two spaces or a tab to make it a sub-point.
• 1. step is a numbered point. Two to five numbered steps are laid out as a timeline.
• 18% | revenue growth is a big number with a label. Up to four per slide become number cards; 18% revenue growth works too when every bullet starts with a number.
• January: 120 on three or more lines is a chart: columns up to five values, a line beyond that.
• Name | Role is a team member card, a | b | c a table row. A Markdown ---|--- line is skipped.
• “A sentence in quotes” – author is a quote; one longer sentence without quotes becomes a full-slide statement.
• A heading with no bullets in the middle of the outline is a section divider. A heading with “thank you” or “questions” at the end is the closing slide.
• > note is a speaker note. It is saved into the file and only you see it while presenting.

A first slide with no bullets (or with a subtitle and a date) is laid out as the title slide. Two points with sub-points make two cards side by side, seven or more points make two columns.

Designs

A design changes the colours, fonts and shapes of every slide at once. The eight basic designs match the presentation editor themes and are free. The six premium designs bring their own palette, a second accent and gradients; anyone can preview them, downloading and editing unlock with Premium or a day pass.

Frequently asked questions

Can I still edit the deck?

Yes. “Edit in the editor” opens it in our presentation editor with every shape and text in place, where you add images, transitions or animations. The downloaded PPTX opens in PowerPoint as well.

Why did a slide come out differently than I expected?

Under each slide in the preview is the layout the tool recognised from your text. If you want a plain list instead of numbers or a table, rewrite the bullets so they do not start with a number and have no vertical bar.

How many slides can it handle?

Dozens, easily. The preview draws every slide, so with a very long outline allow a moment for it to redraw.

Is the text sent anywhere?

No. Neither the outline nor the finished file leaves your browser; it is built the moment you download it.

Can it write the content for me?

No, this is a conversion, not writing. You write the text, we turn it into slides with layouts, colours and shapes.
