How to split a PDF
Once the document is loaded, thumbnails of every page appear. Click the ones you need, or type a range into the field, for example 1-3, 5, 8-10. Both drive the same selection, so you can type a range and then fine-tune it with the mouse.
You get the result in one of two shapes:
- One PDF: the selected pages in a single file, handy for pulling out a chapter or an appendix.
- Every page separately: a ZIP of individual files, useful when you are sending documents out one by one.
Everything happens in your browser, the document is never uploaded. Thumbnails are rendered for the first 60 pages; selecting by range works on longer documents too.

How do I pull a single page out of a PDF?
Click its thumbnail and download the selection as one PDF. Typing the page number into the range field is quicker.
Does the text stay searchable?
Yes. Pages are copied with their text layer intact, nothing is turned into an image.
Why can I not see thumbnails for every page?
For documents over 60 pages we render only the first 60 so the browser does not freeze. Pick the remaining pages by typing a range.
Can I split a scan?
Yes, splitting works the same on scanned PDFs. They simply have no text inside, so the result is not searchable either.
