More about Rotate PDF
How to rotate a PDF
Most of the time this comes up after scanning: the document ends up sideways or upside down and reading it is no fun at all. Upload the PDF, pick which way to turn it and download the corrected file.
- With nothing selected, every page turns at once.
- With a selection (click the thumbnails), only the marked pages turn, which helps when just a couple of tables are landscape.
- Rotations add up: two clicks to the right make 180°, and the preview shows it straight away.
The rotation is stored as a property of the page, the content itself is never redrawn, so the text stays searchable and the quality is untouched. All of it happens in your browser.
Frequently asked questions
Does the rotation survive being emailed?
Yes, it is written into the file itself. It opens correctly in every PDF reader and prints that way too.
Why does the page look different in my reader?
Some readers remember a temporary rotation of their own from the last time the file was open. Try opening it in a new window.
Does it work on a scanned document?
Yes, the type of content makes no difference. The rotation applies to the whole page.
Can I rotate by just 45°?
No, the PDF format only allows multiples of 90°.
