More about Watermark PDF

How to add a watermark to a PDF

Type the text, pick the position, opacity, size and colour, and the preview of the first page shows the result straight away. After downloading, every page of the document carries the watermark.

  • Diagonally across the page: the classic “COPY” or “VOID” right through the document.
  • Top or bottom: a discreet marking that does not cover the content.
  • Opacity around 25% is a good starting point: the text reads clearly and the document stays usable.

The watermark becomes part of the page content, so it cannot simply be hidden by switching off a layer. Everything happens in your browser, the document is never uploaded.

Frequently asked questions

Why do accented letters come out wrong?

The fonts built into PDF readers do not carry accents, so we fold them down to plain Latin letters: “VOID” stays “VOID”, but “INVÁLIDO” becomes “INVALIDO”.

Can the watermark be removed again?

Not from the finished file. Always keep the original without the watermark.

Does a watermark protect the document from misuse?

It makes misuse harder, but it is no substitute for a password or an electronic signature. Treat it as a visual marking, not as security.

Can I use a logo image?

Not yet, the tool works with text. A logo can be placed with a full PDF editor.
