Where your data is processed
Of 91 tools, 86 compute entirely in your browser and the file never leaves your computer. The remaining 5 need a server, because the computation cannot sensibly be done in a browser. For each of them we say below why, and what happens to the data.

Nothing is uploaded. The tool works with the internet disconnected, and we have no way of learning what is in your file.
5 tools on the server
The file travels over an encrypted connection to our server in Germany, is processed in memory and disappears the moment the result is sent back.
Tools that need a server
These are computations a browser cannot handle: machine learning models and libraries that only exist server-side. The same rule applies to all of them: processed in memory, never written to disk, never backed up and never used to train models.

What happens to an uploaded file
- The file goes to the server over an encrypted connection (TLS), the same as when you sign in to online banking.
- It is processed in memory. Longer jobs, such as audio transcription, wait in a queue and are deleted together with the result once finished.
- The result goes back to the browser and the data is released. We do not write it to disk, do not back it up and do not pass it on.
- Operational logs keep only what the server needs to run: the time of the request, the tool address and any error. The contents of the file are not in them.
The other 86 tools
They run entirely in your browser through WebAssembly and JavaScript. That means the tool works offline, that the file size is limited by your computer's memory rather than our connection, and above all that we know nothing about the content. You can spot them by the line “processing happens right in your browser” on the tool itself.
Account and payments
Account details, favourite tools and presets are stored in our database in Germany. Payments are handled by Stripe and card numbers never reach us. The details are in the privacy policy, and the list of processors is in the data processing agreement.
